Cloud Native with Oracle Cloud (1/3)
Get familiar with CNCF Trail Map and corresponding OCI services in a three-part video series. In this first one, we're touching on containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD.
Cloud Native is a popular topic nowadays, so much so that in technical conversations, containers, CI/CD, or the infamous Kubernetes are almost always brought up. This is understandable since it makes perfect sense to leverage cloud capabilities and build at scale the right way. However, I must clarify that Cloud Native isn't always the answer. There are use cases where low-code development or monoliths are more suitable, but Cloud Native offers a plethora of advantages that make it appealing to many, even enterprise customers. π₯Έ
One of the downsides, in my opinion, is the complexity of building software, much like Netflix or any other scaled-out startup π. For beginners, it may seem overwhelming, especially when dealing with a (potentially) new topic like Oracle Cloud Infrastructureπ, which can further delay their cloud-native journey.
Fortunately, there are excellent resources and support available to guide you on the right track. The CNCF is leading the way with its CNCF trail map, which provides a logical path π§ββοΈto follow, starting with containerization and ending with security.
Since there's a lot to take in, I've created a three-part video series that maps out the right OCI offerings at each step of the way. In the first video, I cover containerization, orchestration, and pipeline automation (CI/CD).
